We have all seen Ben Stiller portray different characters from film, past, and even comic book past some very good and some well we just won't say. The question I have for you is if you had the choice what character would love to cast Ben Stiller next as and why?
A writer or a Hollywood agent,
from an interview to Jerry Stahl (Ben played him in Permanent Midnight) for Metro.co.uk:
-Is Hollywood a really dark, seedy place?
-The inside of my head was a dark, seedy place. I don't think I can blame it on Hollywood, that's for sure. Like any junkie, you can be airdropped into any strange city at three in the morning and walk away two hours later with drugs. You just have that innate ability. Certainly there is a dark, weird edge in Hollywood that is peculiar to that environment. But I lived in London in the 1970s and I've lived in New York. It's always there.
-Ben Stiller played you in the film Permanent Midnight but he is better known for comedy. How did he end up in such a dark role?
-He wanted to do something more serious. We ended up becoming very close.
-He seems like such an 'apple pie' type guy, though.
-He is so far from apple pie. I think you'll find that most very funny people are also probably the darkest people in life – unless I just know freaks. Ben's an amazing, deeply intelligent guy. He's not one of these people who's always 'on' and yuck-yuck. He does what he needs to do on screen.
